AUT UniPrep

Applications for UniPrep 2026 are now open and we’d like your help extending this opportunity to eligible students.

Now in its 11th year, UniPrep is AUT’s free university programme, designed to develop the confidence, skills and support structure for students transitioning into university.

Students will:

• Take their first 15-point university course, completely free
• Build skills, confidence and leadership potential
• Explore their identity and whakapapa in a culturally affirming environment
• Participate in academic workshops, and gain university experience
• Build relationships and support structures for university life.

This is an incredible opportunity that is being offered completely free of charge, and we’d greatly appreciate you sharing this opportunity with your Year 13 students.

Eligibility criteria for students

• Must be Year 13 in 2025
• Have achieved NCEA Level 2 and Level 1 Numeracy
• Are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
