Just a reminder that the workshops are for 15 – 19 year olds, and instead of payment, Unitec just ask for a koha of a can of food (or non perishable food item). All proceeds go to people in hardship (including Unitec students).
April / Paengawhāwhā Courses
Intro to Early Childhood Education (21st April)
Lets introduce you to the world of ECE. You’ll gain perspective for teaching children at the early developmental stages while exploring play through sensory, interactive and creative activities. Our lecturers will also take your through what you need to know to enter the Bachelor of teaching ECE.
Drawing Intensive (27th – 28th April)
This dynamic two-day drawing workshop covers gesture, texture, tone, line and form, in wet and dry media. You will be instructed in traditional, and experimental procedures to create rich and expressive drawings at medium and large scale.
Drawing for Character (28th – 30th April)
This course will focus on exploring figure drawing for illustration, animation, and graphic novels. Learning to draw the human figure and develop characters based on the human figure. This will enable students to construct their own characters and place these in action poses for animation or static images.
Risograph Printing and binding (27th & 28th April)
This two-day workshop will introduce to the world of Risograph printing through the production and binding of your own vision of the perfect notebook or visual dairy. This two-day course will cover publication design and planning, outputting master templates, high volume printing, collation, cutting and book binding. Come and learn how you can be the next Kikki-K.
Design Beautiful User Interfaces for Mobile Apps (27th & 28th April)
Beautiful User Interfaces are not only seductive and stylish – but more usable too. This 2-day course will teach you the professional software tools & design principles required to make drop-dead gorgeous User Interfaces. By the end of two days you will have created an impressive prototype app that you can test and share.
Business for Creatives: How to turn Art & Design ideas into a venture (29th April)
Making a living from your creativity isn’t easy, but it’s definitely possible if you can switch between a creative and a business perspective. This one-day course will take you through the core techniques that help transform ideas into cashflow.
3D Visualisation for Gaming Environments (29th April)
In this one day intensive you will work with established assets to construct a 3D gaming environment in Cinema 4D. In this experience you will explore the importance and relationships of lighting and camera composition in creating artwork for the gaming industry, producing industry standard renderings that will be printed on our photo-quality Epson printers
